FAQ
Percento frequently asked questions.
About Percento
Is Percento a bookkeeping app?
Percento is closer to a net worth management app. You do not need to record every expense. Just record meaningful asset changes to track your overall financial position.
Membership and Purchases
Can I use the free version?
Yes. Percento offers a free version. Premium unlocks unlimited accounts, multiple currencies, price updates, more themes, and the full feature set.
Do subscriptions and lifetime purchases include the same features?
Yes. Both subscription members and lifetime members can use Premium features and receive future updates.
I already purchased Premium. Why does the app still show the purchase page?
First, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used to purchase Percento. Then tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the purchase page. If it still does not restore, restart the app or try again later.
Do I need to buy again after deleting and reinstalling the app?
No. Use the same Apple ID you originally purchased with, then tap Restore Purchases on the purchase page.
I bought Lifetime Premium. Do I still need to cancel my existing subscription?
Yes. If you subscribed first and later bought Lifetime Premium, cancel the original subscription manually in the App Store to avoid being charged on the next billing date.
If I was charged twice, can I get a refund?
iOS app purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. Please apply through Apple's official refund guide as soon as possible. Earlier requests are usually easier to approve.
Why does the amount on my Apple bill look different?
Apple may combine multiple App Store purchases into one bill. Check your Apple purchase history first to confirm whether the charge includes other items.
Do Lifetime and subscription Premium support Family Sharing?
Yes. Family members should make sure they are in the same Apple Family group, then open the Percento purchase page on their own device and tap Restore Purchases.
Prices, Exchange Rates, and Currencies
Stock price update timing
Percento supports price updates for Taiwan stocks, Hong Kong stocks, U.S. stocks, Mainland China stocks, some global markets, funds, cryptocurrencies, precious metals, and exchange rates. Price data may be delayed or cached. Percento is built for asset management, not real-time trading quotes.
For detailed update timing, see the stock price update guide.
What if I cannot find a stock or fund?
Percento currently supports price updates for Taiwan stocks, Hong Kong stocks, U.S. stocks, Mainland China stocks, some global markets, Taiwan funds, Mainland China funds, cryptocurrencies, precious metals, and exchange rates, but we cannot cover every stock or fund.
If you cannot find the asset you need, manage it manually: for stocks, add Account > Investment > Stock, then choose Custom Stock under Manual Price Update; for funds, add Account > Investment > Investment Fund and skip binding a fund symbol. Enter the holdings or units and price yourself, then update the price or asset value when you add or edit records.
Can Percento track stock purchase cost and investment gains?
Percento is designed to track overall net worth, so stock prices are mainly used to calculate current market value. For purchase cost, gains, losses, and detailed trades, please use your brokerage records.
To keep Percento closer to your actual holdings, record share changes soon after buying or selling.
Can I enter only an amount for stocks instead of shares?
Stock accounts currently calculate market value mainly as shares × price, so stock records still need a share quantity.
If you invest a fixed amount regularly and mainly want to record the bank deduction and money movement, use Transfer: transfer from the bank account to the related investment account. This reflects money moving from bank to investment, and the transfer itself does not change total net worth.
How do I update prices?
Pull down the asset list on the main screen to update all assets. You can also open an account detail page and tap Update.
Can prices update automatically when I open the app?
Yes. Go to Settings > Auto Refresh Price and turn on automatic updates on app launch.
Does Percento support multiple currencies?
Yes. Percento has three currency levels: main currency, account currency, and transaction currency. Foreign-currency assets are converted to your main currency for display.
Can I change an account currency after creating the account?
No. Account currency cannot be changed after creation. If you need another currency, create a new account.
Why is it not recommended to change the main currency often?
The main currency affects historical data conversion. Frequent changes may leave some historical data without exchange rates and affect display results.
Using Features
How do I record salary, rent, and other recurring items?
Use Auto Transaction to set up fixed income or expenses such as salary, rent, mortgage payments, subscriptions, or a fixed monthly budget. After setup, Percento automatically creates records on schedule.
What is Transfer?
Transfer records money moving between two accounts, such as bank transfers, credit card repayments, or borrowing and lending. Your total net worth does not change after a transfer.
For detailed usage, see the Transfer guide.
